Sacraments
This page contains the requirements for reception of
the Sacraments of the Catholic Church.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Baptism
Infant Baptisms: See Ed Nolan or Father Michael to arrange
sessions for parents and godparents, and to set a date for Baptism.
Please note: Godparents must be confirmed, practicing Catholics.
Baptism of children 7 years of age and older: Please enroll
your child in this 2 year religious education program. Children will
receive Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist at one time, at
either the Easter Vigil or Easter morning, according to the regulations
of the Church. The Bishop does not allow any exceptions to this
requirement. The parents, godparents, and children must attend all rites
and ceremonies leading up to the reception of these sacraments.
First Eucharist
First Eucharist (Communion):
Please enroll your child in this 2 year religious education program.
Children will usually make their Penance (Confession) and First
Communion in the 3rd grade. Children beginning the program in
third grade or later will receive these sacraments after their second
year of preparation.
Confirmation
Youth Confirmation:
This is a two year program, Youth are confirmed
between their sophomore and senior years. contact Edward Nolan Or
Natalie Kostos.
Adult Confirmation:
Those over age 18 who have not been confirmed please
contact Edward Nolan, to start preparing for this Sacrament.
Confirmation is usually in the spring of each year.
